Marc Smookler

Angel Investor. Focus: B2B; B2C; SaaS. Mr. Marc Smookler is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at IdealSpot. Mr. Smookler also is the Co-Founder, Board Member and Advisor of Written. Prior to this role, he also co-founded Fonality and served in its Product, Sales and Marketing. Marc is a brand and product marketeer, and process automation junky. He has (co)founded five companies including Fonality, a leading cloud and open-source based PBX competitor to Avaya and Cisco, and Sake Social, the largest online retailer of Japanese sake in the US. Prior to Fonality and Sake Social, Marc founded two web services companies and burned-out of Investment Banking--USBancorp in Mpls. and JP Morgan in NYC. He is an active investor in/partner of Austin’s tech-incubator Capital Factory, supports other Angel/Incubator/Mentor programs including University of Texas and TechStars Austin, and angel invests in companies in the B2C space. Marc has a BS in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
